Citrusy floating on a ripe apple, tropical oaky cinnamon base with a concentrated mineral core. refreshing palate, mineral, crisp, appley mid palate, mineral elegant finish. this white shows a reasonable maturity and bright future, drink now thru next decade and suggest to decant.
2. Domaine de Chevalier Rouge 8/10
nose is open up, elegant red and black fruit, cherry, hawthorn, fresh cassis and hint of tobacco, palate is lively subtle with long elegant finish, more open than last year.
3. Chateau Pitet Village 8/10
this smoky gamey plummy red present some freshing nose of mint, mid bodied spicy up tone with a firmed plummy finish, fine tannin, typical iron rich soil minerality and leathery edge. 75% M, 8% CF, CS
4. Chateau Figeac 7/10
very herbaceous nose, leafy and a little red cherry and star anise. cabernet predoninant. supple body refreshing slightly coarse texture. finish is fine, mid length, the structure is too subtle to age well, somehow reminds me the 85 vintage.
5. Chateau Brane Cantenac 8/10
Cabernet is fully open, cassis nose, palate is intense mid bodied, rich velvety, luscious finish of sour cherry note long and fresh.
6. Chateau Leoville Poyferre 8+/10
dry herb, tobacco, cassis nose shows the maturity of cabernet and petit verdot, wild black cherry earthiness is focused. fine and straight-in tannin, great demostration to this vintage
7. Chateau Pichon Longueville Baron 8+/10
tight, earthy spicy, very closed nose much close than I tasted last year. deep nose and palate, black fruit flavor, long concentrated structure, very pauillac.
8. Chateau Suduiraut 8/10
concentrated, apricot and hoey, botrytis nose of sweet spice and apple, orange peel, luscious sweet, almond smoke and cinnamon appears on finish. spicy mid palate.
